has been practiced in India from ancient times primarily in the home, as part of a tradition. In the intense heat of India it was part of the regimen for maintaining healthy lustrous hair, together with the use of oils, as well as being enjoyed for its therapeutic effects.

In the 1980’s Narendra Mehta, a blind Osteopath and massage therapist from India based in London, incorporated the traditional techniques into a treatment designed to be given with the receiver seated in an ordinary chair, with additional work to the upper back and shoulders, upper arms, neck and face, also including work on the higher subtle energy centres of the body.

It is excellent for conditions such as neck and shoulder tension, tension headaches, sinus symptoms, and eye strain..and for simple relaxation.

The workshop has a duration of 13 hours (Sat and Sun 9.30am – 5.30pm ), with a maximum of 10 participants. It is mainly hands-on work together with detailed notes.

An FHT accredited certificate of completion is presented and those who have completed a training which includes Anatomy and Physiology are eligible for insurance cover for the practice of Indian Head Massage, based on this workshop.

An A&P certificate is beneficial but not required except if you intend to work as a practitioner. You are insurance eligible with this FHT accredited certification.
